On September 23th, 2017 Republic Bank sponsored a golf outing fundraiser and concert that collected over $105,000 for children battling illness in Lithuania.
Over 200 participants attended the 9th Annual Chicagoland Lithuanian Rotary Club golf event, held at the Old Oaks Country Club in Homer Glen, IL. Money was raised through sponsorships, foursome purchases and auction bids. This year’s fundraising will go towards the building of a pediatric oncology family assistance center, as well as the provision of equipment for 2 other medical facilities.
A young girl and her family came from Lithuania to attend the event and share their story. They are just one of hundreds of families the Rotary hopes to help.
Republic Bank VP/Business Development Officer Renata Kanopka, the organization’s Treasurer, orchestrated the sales of event and raffle tickets, and organized games and other activities that kept the attendees entertained throughout the day. The day-long festivities culminated in a live concert by Rudolfas Budginas and Blake Alexander.
“This event continues to be a success every year. The $105,000 we raised will allow us to provide so much more for the children and their families,” shared Renata Kanopka. “Our community continues to come together in support of our mission. I’m proud of the support Republic Bank provides to the Rotary.”
In addition to the monetary donation provided by Republic Bank as the main sponsor, the bank also provided auction items and gift bags to all participants.
