Over 18 months ago we reported on Republic Bank’s support of a Community Learning Center in Hodgkins. The center served students in the District 105 area. Since then the center has relocated to Ideal School in Countryside and has even more to offer.
The new learning center was developed after discussing the needs of the community with the school staff, students and their families. It is larger with more to offer for students and their families. A staffed gymnasium provides a safe place for kids to exercise and socialize. Parents can take classes to learn English and Spanish. Students are offered opportunities in science, technology, engineering and math classes. They can even learn about computer coding.
“We are so proud of the success of the Learning Center, and grateful to Ideal School for continuing to build upon the initial vision we shared,” remarked Matt Gilbert, Branch Sales Manager of Republic Bank’s Hodgkins branch.
The center hopes to support families from neighboring communities as well.
