Republic Bank’s Oak Brook branch recently hosted a very successful Shred Day event which provided free shredding services to anyone who attended. Whitney Cimaglia, Oak Brook VP/Branch Sales Manager, teamed up with People’s Resource Center to collect food donations from event attendees for the non-profit organization.
People’s Resource Center distributes food and other items to individuals and families in need through a network of over 2,000 volunteers in DuPage County, and depends on food and cash donations from local businesses, residents, schools and organizations to fulfill their mission. “We greatly appreciate the support we have received from Republic Bank and their customers. Nearly 30,000 people rely on our services each year,” shared Debbie Lunger, Community Partnership Manager. “We can’t help them without the generosity of our volunteers and all of the people providing donations.”
“The generosity of all the people that came to our Shred Day event was incredible. We had over 80 people bring items to shred, and almost all of them had an item to donate to the People’s Resource Center,” noted Whitney. “The organization provides critical services to our community. We are proud to be involved with them and are very appreciative of the support we received from our event patrons.”
