2017 marks the beginning of a multi-year sponsorship of Tinley Park’s Park District by Republic Bank of Chicago. The Running O’ the Green 8K was the inaugural event for the sponsorship commitment that runs through 2019.
“Our commitment to the park district signifies a continued progression of involvement since we first began servicing the community, and we could not be more excited,” shared Kamlesh Jain, Republic Bank’s Tinley Park VP/Branch Sales Manager. “We will proudly support and be actively involved in every event, as was evident with the 20+ runners that enjoyed representing the bank at the Running O’ the Green 8K.”
Over 400 runners participated in the Park District’s Running O’ the Green 8K. The annual event brought in residents from Tinley Park and surrounding villages. Joe Kehoe, Republic Bank SVP Financial Management, and his wife ran the race for their 5th straight year. “We enjoy our community and take full advantage of all that it has to offer. It’s great to have an employer that supports us and our community. It’s clearly a priority.”
The bank provided gifts for all of the 8K runners. A separate raffle was held for visitors to the Republic Bank booth, and 3 raffle winners received gift cards.
Additional Republic Bank sponsorships for 2017-2019 include the Stars & Stripes 5K, Running O’ The Green 8K and Turkey Trot 5K, as well as the Classic Movie Cinema and outdoor Movies in the Park series. The bank will also be hosting Republic Bank Day in the Park at the White Water Canyon Water Park, where special activities and give-aways are planned.
