All Federal Benefit Payments Are Going Electronic

The U.S. Department of the Treasury announced in December 2010 that all federal benefit and non-tax payments will be paid electronically. Anyone who receives federal benefits by paper check is required to switch to direct deposit or to the Direct Express® Debit MasterCard® card by March 1, 2013.
