For Republic Bank’s Naperville branch, it’s not just about providing a free shredding service to their customers, it’s also about finding more ways to help those in need. At their most recent Shred Day event, the Naperville branch teamed up with not just one, but two charitable organizations, to help support their causes.
In announcements that proceeded the event, the bank requested that anyone bringing documents to shred also consider bringing items that can be donated to Loaves & Fishes. A local not-for-profit, Loaves & Fishes serves over 600 families each week, providing a client choice grocery shopping experience, and other services. They depend on the kindness and support of the community and over 1000 dedicated volunteers. “We were overwhelmed with the generosity of Republic Bank and all of the people that donated items. We support many families every week, and events like this have a significant impact on our ability to serve them”, shared Diane Ramonas, Community Relations Manager.
On the day of the event participants were treated to a cupcake from Cupcakes for Courage. Republic Bank purchased 200 cupcakes that were offered to everyone that attended. Cupcakes for Courage supports several causes related to cancer treatment and the environment.
“To witness such generosity from our neighbors and customers was inspiring,” expressed Nicole Reeves, Republic Bank’s Naperville Branch Sales Manager. “We were thrilled with the turnout. Two great organizations received critical support to continue to serve those in need.”
Everyone who attended also received a gift bag from the bank that included coupons and special offers from other community businesses.
Republic Bank is hosting Shred Day events at many other branches throughout the summer.
