• 1. How can I speed up my application?

    If you already have an account with us, we can automatically fill out parts of your application using the information you provided when you opened your other account. You can speed up your application using information from your Debit/ATM Card, and a deposit account (excluding CD accounts).

  • 2. Which ownership type should I choose?

    If you will be the only person to have ownership on this account select Individual. If you want to add a co-owner to the account, select Joint.

    To open Trust accounts, Minor accounts, or IRA accounts; please visit a branch location.

  • 3. How is my personal information used?

    Federal law requires that all financial institutions obtain, verify, and record personal information that identifies each person who opens and account. Your information is securely stored on your account and customer records once your new account is opened.

  • 4. Where do I find my last statement balance?

    The last statement balance refers to the end balance on your last statement for this account. If your statements are delivered electronically, just sign on to your Republic Bank Online Banking account and access the Statements page by clicking Statements on the Accounts menu.

  • 5. Why do I need to review and accept disclosures?

    Disclosures contain the important terms and conditions that apply to your new account. Reviewing and accepting disclosures ensure that you are informed about how we will manage your new account.

  • 6. What is backup withholding?

    Backup withholding is a type of withholding for federal income taxes on certain types of income.  Backup withholding may be mandatory in certain circumstances. You will be notified by the IRS if you are required to have backup withholding or if your name and Social Security do not match the IRS records.

  • 7. Why do I need to answer these questions?

    Answering these additional security questions allows us to confirm your identity and ensure that no one else can open an account in your name. This additional layer of security helps protect our customers against identity fraud.

  • 8. How can I make a deposit?

    You can make a deposit using your existing Republic Bank deposit account or you can make a deposit from a different financial institution’s account.

  • 9. Why do you need my login information?

    Providing your login information allows us to verify that you own the account you are using to make a deposit in your new account.

  • 10. What if I cannot provide my login information?

    You can still use your account at a different financial institution to make a deposit. Click the link in the Login information section to use test deposits and withdrawals to verify your account ownership.

    If you choose this option, we will make two test deposits ($.99 or less) and two matching withdrawals to your external account. You will need to access that account to see the transaction amounts and then return to our Web site to enter the amounts and verify account ownership. It typically takes 2 or 3 days for these transactions to appear in your external account.

  • 11. What is the verification process for the test deposits and withdrawals?

    If you choose this option, we will make two test deposits ($.99 or less) and two matching withdrawals to your external account. You will need to access that account to see the amounts and then return to our website to enter the amounts and verify account ownership. It typically takes 2 or 3 days for these transactions to appear in your external account.

    Note: If you select test deposits and withdrawals, you cannot change your verification method again.
